Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a light-pressure hands-on technique. It works on the connective tissue (fascia) that wraps around and through our muscles, offering a long-duration, low-load stretch to the fascia.

In contrast to the massage of muscles, which is directed along specific muscle fibres, release of fascia can require stretch in unpredictable directions – this is because the fascia in our bodies forms a continuous sheet of tissue that has no grain as muscles do.

In addition, Myofascial Release needs to be a long and light stretch because of the chemical composition of fascia, which is a tissue so strong that it is able to protect the body from almost any aggressive touch. Myofascial Release allows the body to repair itself, making it a very safe technique.
